What We Offer

iPhone 8 Repairs We Offer

Screen replacement

Full display assembly replacement for the 4.7 inch Retina HD screen with True Tone colour temperature. We transfer the original home button (paired to the logic board for Touch ID and haptic feedback), recalibrate True Tone where possible, and reseal the IP67 water resistance adhesive. Every screen is tested for 3D Touch, colour accuracy, and touch response.

Battery replacement

The iPhone 8 has a 1821 mAh battery, the same size as the SE 2nd generation that came three years later. After years of daily use, capacity drops below 80% and the phone starts dying in the afternoon. We fit a fresh cell, test it under load, check that wireless charging still works, and reseal the display.

Charging port repair

The Lightning dock flex cable on the iPhone 8 includes the primary microphone and barometric vent. If wired charging is unreliable, data sync fails, or callers cannot hear you, this part needs replacing. We test charging, sync, and call audio after fitting.

Camera Repair

The iPhone 8 was the first iPhone since the iPhone 4 to have a glass back panel. This glass enables wireless charging but cracks easily from drops. We replace the rear glass and make sure the Qi wireless charging coil underneath is intact and functioning after the repair.

Software troubleshooting

If your iPhone 8 is stuck on the Apple logo, in a boot loop, running slowly on iOS 16, or showing unexpected errors, we can diagnose and fix the issue while you wait. We also help with iCloud lock and data recovery where possible.

Network unlocking

If your iPhone 8 is locked to a specific carrier, we can unlock it so you can use any SIM card from any network. Useful if you have switched providers, bought a second hand phone that is still locked, or need a local SIM for travelling abroad.

Is It Worth Repairing an iPhone 8 in 2026?

The iPhone 8 is in a stronger position than the iPhone 7. It runs iOS 16.7.16, which Apple patched as recently as May 2026. That is one full major version ahead of the iPhone 7 (stuck on iOS 15), which means broader app support and more recent security fixes.

The A11 Bionic chip still handles everyday tasks smoothly. WhatsApp, YouTube, Spotify, Safari, and most banking apps work on iOS 16. Some apps have started requiring iOS 17 or later, but the majority of everyday apps still support iOS 16 today.

Wireless charging, True Tone display, and fast charging via USB PD are all features that keep the iPhone 8 feeling usable rather than outdated. If you use it for calls, messaging, browsing, photos, and light app use, a screen or battery replacement is a sensible investment.

Apple classified the iPhone 8 as Vintage in March 2025, meaning Apple Stores may no longer repair it. We still do, across all 14 stores, and we plan to keep doing so.

If the phone has multiple faults, we charge £10 for a full diagnostic and will tell you whether the total repair cost makes sense before any work starts.

How Long Does an iPhone 8 Repair Take?

Most iPhone 8 repairs take around 30 minutes. Screen replacements and battery swaps are the quickest.

Back glass repairs take longer. The rear glass on the iPhone 8 is bonded to the aluminium frame with strong adhesive, and the wireless charging coil sits directly underneath it. Removing the broken glass without damaging the coil requires care. Allow 45 minutes to an hour for a back glass replacement.

Every screen and battery repair includes resealing the IP67 water resistance adhesive around the display edge.

You can wait in store or drop your phone off and collect it later. All 14 stores are open Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm.

Took my phone here around 2 in the afternoon, the screen was smashed and it was completely unusable. Picked it up again at 2.45, fully repaired, guy couldn't be friendlier and showed me why my phone was so expensive to repair, (almost half the phone needed changing, thanks samsung for your well designed part). And although the price was expensive it was still very reasonable compared to elsewhere. Will definitely go to this shop again if i need my phone fixing again and will be recommending to everyone

Pretty good prices, was skeptic at first because I took my iPhone in to get new battery and with it not being apple labour or product it didn’t recognise at first but it does the job! 👌🏼

I had an unfortunate accident, I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen. I immediately worried about the cost of a repair. I rang several phone shops who wanted £100 for a repair. I then found The Phone Village on Scunthorpe High Street the me £50. I took my phone in and the guys were great I was told it would take 30 mins. On my return the repair had been expertly done. They fitted a free screen protector and case ( yes free of charge). Absolutely fantastic service. I would recommend them to anyone in my situation.

Today I went into Phone village for the first time with a chap I support who is a technology enthusiast and collector. We were greeted by two kind workers and my chap explained he likes to collect old phones and technology which don't necessarily need to be working he just likes to collect and compare them with modern devices. The workers listened closely and attentively and went and got a load of phones for him to look through. They were really impressed as my chap is vision impaired but he is able to work out phone types by touching and recognising features on the phones and was able to say accurately which ones he had been presented with. He picked out the ones he wanted and asked how much they wanted for them but they kindly let him take them for free. They also said they will keep some in storage for if we visits in future as he said it was lovely to meet another phone collector. The workers were kind and polite through out amazing customer service shown highly recommend them for a new phone or service. Thank you Phone village 😊❤️

For daily use, yes. It runs iOS 16 with security patches from May 2026. The A11 Bionic chip handles everyday apps well, and it supports wireless charging, True Tone, and fast charging. If your essential apps still support iOS 16, a repair is far cheaper than a replacement.
